Am I the only person willing to say that based on the commercials that ESPN has been runnning EVERY COMMERCIAL BREAK that “Tilt” is going to be a complete and utter piece of shite?
What the hell is Michael Madsen doing in this series? Just when I was comfortable with him being “Budd” from Kill Bill, now he’s “The Matador”. The MATADOR??? What kind of retarded nickname is that for a poker player? What makes it so funny is that REAL poker player’s nicknames are much less sophisticated. Like “The Kid” or “The Master” or “The Professor”. THE MATADOR???
And no ESPN, I really don’t buy this week’s Negro flavor of the month jumping over a poker table to get a piece of someone. Can anyone really see that happening? At a game run by pros? Maybe if you’re playing with your sister’s degenerate boyfriend and his skinhead pals, sure, I can see things getting a little rowdy. But not amongst the pros. The pros are sickengly and frightengly detached.
Except for Phil Hellmuth…
This story friggin cracks me up.
NFL security probes alleged Martz-Turley run-in NFL security has questioned Rams coach Mike Martz and offensive tackle Kyle Turley over an incident where Turley allegedly threatened to kill Martz, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has learned. Martz and Turley allegedly engaged in a shouting match which resulted in Martz filing a report with NFL Security regarding the death threat, Mortensen is reporting.
Athletes and coaches get in shouting matches all the time, but the fact that this elevated to the level that the player threatened to KILL the coach, that’s hilarious. Oh, and I have no doubt that Turley meant it.
You know, I suppose workplace violence isn’t so funny. I mean, disgruntled workers sometimes go back to their former workplace with guns looking for a piece of management’s ass. So in that respect it’s not funny. But it IS funny in the sense that you’re a goddamn liar if you say you hadn’t at least fantasized about doing the same thing.
Well, except for me of course…
